aylor Frankie Paul’s season of The Bachelorette was officially canceled on March 19 after reports of another domestic incident with her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, surfaced on March 16. ABC’s cancellation of the season happened three days before the highly anticipated season was set to premiere on Sunday, March 22, once footage of a 2023 altercation between Taylor and Dakota made rounds online.
According to spoilers from Reality Steve—which were posted in the thick of Taylor’s scandal on March 17—Doug Mason reportedly won the unaired season and even proposed to the Secret Lives of Mormon Wivesstar.
Taylor has now reacted to Doug’s supportive message to her, which he originally posted on his Instagram Stories and Taylor seemingly saw via @stephwithdadeets on Instagram Reels. The reality TV personality simply dropped a comment, writing, “Aw my heart goes out to him ❤️🩹 so sweet.”
ICYMI, Doug said he was “sending out prayers” to Taylor as the news unfolded.
“Yo, good morning everybody. In light of everything that’s happened, I’m just sending out prayers to Taylor because that was her moment and her moment was blocked,” he said of The Bachelorette’s cancellation.
He continued, “So all we can do right now is be hopeful. And I’m headed off to run to watch the sunrise. Hope you guys have a great day, let’s stay positive and show nothing but support for people in need. Cheers.”
Though Doug and Taylor reportedly broke up a month after their engagement when he visited her in Utah, this is all interesting timing, considering they pulled up to the same spot in L.A. on March 14.
The Sun not only published photos of their reunion but wrote, “It’s believed the pair reunited to film additional scenes for The Bachelorette, perhaps to air at the very end of the season this spring.”

As for Taylor, a spokesperson released statements on her behalf to several outlets. On March 19, they told Variety, “Taylor is very grateful for ABC’s support as she prioritizes her family’s safety and security. After years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm.”
They added, “There are too many women who are suffering in silence as they survive aggressive, jealous ex-partners who refuse to let them move on with their lives. Taylor has remained silent out of fear of further abuse, retaliation, and public shaming. She is currently exploring all of her options, seeking support, and preparing to own and share her story.”
